The Journey with Jonah

Baby Jonah is struggling more each day - he stops breathing, but then starts up again. It is hard to watch him struggle. His is a strong, valiant spirit - that much is very apparent. We feel so blessed that Phoebe, Eliza, and Hannah are here and have been able to hold him and be with him and all of us. Harry and all of his siblings have been able to be here together - which feels right and good.

Aunt Mary and Aunt Donna came out Saturday to help. Many family members and friends are helping in so many ways - and it is a comfort and a blessing.

Eliza was the first to arrive. Hannah came last night. Phoebe came this morning - but I haven't remembered to take a photo!! Jonah receives hospice care, and we cannot say enough good about these wonderful people. I haven't remembered to take a photo of them, but I won't ever forget their loving, watchful care.

Here's the birthDAY celebration for Day 8. A big thank you to Karla Marshall for the pineapple upside down cake!

Baby Lars came with Eliza, of course, and he's been a real trouper.

I have been teaching the Gospel Doctrine class for Harry - and lest you think that's a burden, let me tell you that it has been an opportunity to reflect and feel strengthened. Today's lesson referred to Elder Nelson's talk from April General Conference. This quote brought a feeling of peace to me:

". . .We live to die, and we die to live again. From an eternal perspective, the only death that is truly premature is the death of one who is not prepared to meet God."

Many thanks again for your love and concern, shown in so many ways.
